  • Source control for synchronizing massive music library?
    T Tarakeshwar Reddy

You can use large file extension for mercurial. The large file extension does not store a copy for every change. It uses a seperate folder for storing large files and even caches the file so it gets the file only if a change in hash is detected.

:rose: I am sure your dad would have been proud to see you post something like this. Your post reminds me of a movie Vaaranam Aayiram[^] (one of the regional language movie in India). It is one of my favourite movie, the story was inspired by many other films, but it was also based on the true life story of the director and his dad. Hats off to you and your dad.

  • 6 monitors and counting...
    T Tarakeshwar Reddy

I used to have a two/four monitor setup and would always miss an incoming email or IM. I had to constantly be looking at the other monitor to see if I have some notifications. I use a 14 inch laptop now, single screen and I am able to get more code done than before, I can see the notifications and either take a look or ignore it. It also allows me to code without a distraction or take a minute and check email and browse. One productive job at a time. I still have a dual monitor attached to my docking station, I use that only when I am trying to verify something in the application with the database or while profiling something.

  • Just ordered a Nikon D3100 camera
    T Tarakeshwar Reddy

I purchased the D3100 two weeks ago and have been greatly impressed with the pictures. We had our baby a week ago and this took excellant pictures even in the low light. You have made a great choice. I had posted in CodeProject about which model of Nikon to buy D3100 or D5100. Take a look at the discussion[^].
