Hey John, I've installed Virtual Box today and have had nothing but trouble with it. It won't complete an install of XP or Vista. It runs into issues reading files from the CD. I've tried on two laptops with the same results. The forums have been a little help, but at this point I'm stuck and trying Virtual PC. Any thoughts?

Hadn't heard of Virtual Box until today. Thanks for the suggestion John, I'll look into it. At this point it looks like Vista 64 bits running Virtual Box.

I'm assuming that 64bits will let me use all 4 gb and perform faster as well. Maybe I need to bite the bullet with Vista.

I expect only 1 VM running at a time.

Granted, this is a few years old, but now I am scared. http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1795/[^] Do you know if drivers and support for Vista 64 bit are any better?
It's good to be alive
I consider Vista, but I have enough change going on in my career right now, introducing this just seems like unnecessary grief.

The last I've read, MS is allowing 4 instances of the same license[^] in a VM environment.

As mentioned last week, I purchased a new Dell Latitude E6500, with a 4gb of RAM and 250gb of disk. My intent is to use Virtual PC to setup environments for each customer. As the base OS I plan on 64 bit Win XP. Then each virtual instance will have the OS of the customer. Can anyone see flaws in this idea? Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks in advance.

I went with the Dell Latitude E6500 based on price. When I ran both systems thru the purchasing wizards, the Lenovo came out $300 more. I ended up buying a refurbished unit with: Intel Core 2 Duo P9550 (2.66 ghz) 250gb 7200rpm drive 4gb DDR2 RAM Intel Wifi 5300 NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M thanks for all the responses. Joe

Thanks John. I agree 250gb is preferable. I'll check out the forum.

Thanks Leppie The 7200rpm drive should resolve speed. I'm not sure my eyes are any better than 1280 x 800 :)

I am in the market for a laptop and am comparing the Dell E6500 and Lenovo T500. I need something I can install multiple versions of Visual Studio on, leverage Virtual PC for multiple customer environments and probably have some flavor of SQL Server running. As far as specs go: Proc: Intel core 2 duo P9600 or better Memory: 3gb DDR3 Screen: WUXGA 15.4" Wifi: Intel WiFi Link 5300 Drive: 160gb 7200rpm Video: independent processor and memory I appreciate any comments or feedback about these 2 models and specs for a laptop that will accomplish what I intend.

I am looking to offload some ASP.NET development work to Brazil. Does anyone have any experience with smaller companies there? I am also interested in any experiences you've had, good or bad.

An Approval workflow is running regardless of the Content Type uploaded. I have specifically assigned the workflow to a single Content Type, yet it runs for any Content Type uploaded; what am I missing? More Details: I have a Document Library in a Records Center. I have created 2 Content Types: 'Vendor Agreement' and 'Signed Vendor Agreement'. I have assigned the Approval workflow to the 'Vendor Agreement' Content Type and have created a 'Vendor Agreement Execute' workflow using SharePoint Designer and assigned it to the 'Signed Vendor Agreement' Content Type. When a user uploads a new 'Vendor Agreement' the Approval workflow runs as it should. When a user uploads a 'Signed Vendor Agreement' item, both the Approval and 'Vendor Agreement Execute' workflows run; only the 'Vendor Agreement Execute' workflow should have run. Any ideas?

Ah, Tony Stark makes you feel, he's a cool exec with a heart of steel... Collect Iron Man comics for years and Avengers who were funded by Tony Stark. I am looking forward to this Marvel Movie.

The problem with the cool, hot, fun ladies is they are always changing what they wear. These wardrobe changes don't add any substance to who they really are. They just make someone excited because they can drag them around (AJAX) now or they are in a video (Silverlight).
