Well, the sequencing around this post has gotten really screwed up. What's going on Chris?
the last thing I want to see is some pasty-faced geek with skin so pale that it's almost translucent trying to bump parts with a partner - John Simmons / outlaw programmer

That's a very interesting question, in what would constitute "conclusive". But for now, I'll sit back and enjoy watching science figure out things like dark matter and dark energy. :) Marc

No. People's capacity for self delusion is unlimited. No matter what is discovered, there will be people that won't believe it. This is why there are people who believe that UFOs are regularly visiting Earth just to mess with hicks, that the US never went to the moon and that they are the next American Idol, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Are you being genuine or are you hinting that science is on a wild goose chase and the answer is God? I didn't take you for the type who thinks God micromanages the universe. I took you more for the type that thinks God create the universe and its rules and then let it run. In the latter dark matter and dark energy may exist and be found by science. In the former, not.

Amen :) I find it fascinating that some feel that God should somehow be able to be described or quantified by that which He created. It's kind of like trying to use a shadow to describe the inner depths of that which cast it.

Many, many scientists see their work as bringing them closer to God - to being able to see more of His creation, to understand it at a deeper level that would otherwise be possible. Science is beautiful - it's art. You think you do well when you're in the zone coding for 16 hrs a day? Imagine focusing on a single equation, a single molecule or a single cellular structure for 20 years. Now that is focus, is passion. Is love.
