Hi Girish - thank you for your email, but I don't have the capacity to implement this for you. However, if you change the dbconnection string and the dbprovider in the ConnectionString section of the web.config, you should be able to get the existing code working for you. If not, there are plenty of samples on CodeProject. Good luck! Chris

  • Self-defense by a liberal, a conservative, and a Texan...
    C Chris Hambleton

Question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner and is running at you while screaming obscenities. In your hand is a Glock .40 and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? Liberal Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that is inspiring him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion. Conservative Answer: BANG! Texan's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click... • Australian and American English
    C Chris Hambleton

The main reason is probably because it was a byproduct of American dictionaries -- after the American Revolution, after Noah Webster and others produced American dictionaries with different spellings of words. As people began using the new spellings, they began pronouncing words slightly differently, and the changes evolved over time. After the Revolution, Webster, Franklin, and others also wanted to break more completely with the English, and one way was to change the 'common' language. They thought about changing the common language to Latin, Greek, etc, but settled for just changing the spellings and then the pronunciation of words. As children learned to read the new spellings, the language gradually changed... _"No one goes to hell because of their sin, but because of rejecting God's method of salvation: His Son's life for yours..."

Not to be offensive (so be warned!!), but I heard a quote a few months ago that really hit the nail on the head: Question: "When will there be peace in the Middle East?" Yeah -- I said 'most', not 'all'. Not be ignorant or anything, but if martyred male Muslims are rewarded with eternity with 70+ virgins, what are martyred female Muslims rewarded with? I may be mistaken, but the Koran doesn't say much about Muslim women and their afterlives -- just men. Can anyone with some deeper knowledge of Islam clue me in on that? Now, if that's correct that the Koran is silent on the fates of female Muslim martyrs, they have even LESS of a reason to commit suicide bombings than their male-counterparts!! Not to start anything here, but the theology of "God will reward me with heaven by kill non-believers, regardless of who they are (whether they're innocents, women, children, unborn, etc)" is completely and utterly evil -- and yes, the Church is as guilty of that as any group of Muslims every was... thankfully, the organized Church has had a lot of it's worldly power and influence removed. _"No one goes to hell because of their sin, but because of rejecting God's method of salvation: His Son's life for yours..."

Makes sense to me -- most of the recent terrorist acts have been committed by males of Middle East origin, ranging from 15-40 years old, and identify themselves with some form of fundamentalist Muslim religion. How many blue-haired grandma's are blowing themselves (and others) up in crowded public places? This isn't being racist, just extra careful about who you let into your country. • No Muslims in the EU??
    C Chris Hambleton

I didnt' hear this report, but the Muslim party has recently won the largest majority in Turkey's gov't in 15 years. Also, the EU has been stalling Turkey's entry for decades, and Turkey's getting frustrated. Sooner or later, Turkey's going to give up on the EU (or the EU will simply deny them outright), and Turkey will have to decide on who it's allies are/will be: the US & Israel, Russia, or some of the Muslim countries. I'm putting my $$$ that they'll align themselves with Russia and/or the other Muslim countries very soon. Russia and some of the Muslim countries (like Iran) already have some alliances to defend themselves against possible NATO 'aggression', and it seems likely that the issue with EU will cause Turkey to move to the Muslim/Russian alliances... I have some other thoughts on why Turkey will move eastward -- if you're interested, email me directly. • How does a war against Iraq affect you?
    C Chris Hambleton

I think many people who don't want a war against Saddam don't understand who he is or what his intentions are. Saddam envisions himself as the re-incarnated Nebuchadnezzer (who conquered all the Middle East around 600 BC), and his goals are the same -- conquest of the entire Middle East. He's rebuilt the city of Babylon (former capital of the empire) and someday hopes to rule the whole Middle East from there, just like Neb. When he threatens both Israel and many of the Muslim nations (like S.A.), do you really think he wants to just be left alone. Is SH really getting a raw deal? The US could've nuked him w/o warning. Instead, the US decided to go the UN route, which is usually anti-US anyway... doesn't make sense to me that he's getting a raw deal. Of course he has WMD -- if he was only a two years away from them over 10 years ago, and then we left him alone for 4 years, most likely the first thing he did was re-start the programs. Why did SH stonewall and protest about the inspectors in the first place if he has nothing to hide? Ever notice how he now has dozens of palaces, some of which used to be military complexes? Nothing going on there at all! For Saddam, it would be advantageous to use terrorists to distribute his WMD -- terrorists are stateless, and if there's little or no paper trail, how could the US tie terrorist acts back to him? If he goes head-to-head with the US, he'll lose. But if he uses terrorism to cripple the US economy and infrastructure -- he'll fair a lot better. What does a 12,000 POS doc from Iraq mean if it doesn't tell the truth? It could be 100,000 and it wouldn't make a difference. I'm sure the US is able to obtain import records of many of the materials into Iraq, and when things don't add up, it'll put more suspicion on SH. Iraq spent a ton of $$$, and all of a sudden they decided not to pursue it anymore when they were so close? I don't buy it.... Also, in spite of the media reports, I think that the US-British intelligence is strong enough such that when Iraq denies having WMD, we hand our 12,000+ page document to the UN and people will realize what a threat he really is. It's beyond my understanding that people blame the embargo on "hundreds of thousands" of Iraqi deaths. Saddam has literally billions of dollars, yet his people starve!! Seems to me that a nation's leaders should take care of their people out of their own pocket first, before another nation sends them relief money. If there was no embargo on Iraq, would that really make a diff
