Well, I figured it out on my own... Turns out the the XP-SP3 release removes the address toolbar, due to some legal issues (so I've read). If you, like me, miss this feature, here's how you can get it back: Restore address toolbar deskband after installing xp sp3/[^] I fould the one from Niversoft to be the best for me; your mileage may differ. Those error are almost always due to linking different "types" of CRT in different modules. For example your main executable might be using "Multi-threaded Debug DLL" CRT but one of your other statically linked library might be using "Multi-threaded Debug" or may be just single threaded ones. In this case I think analysis.lib is a static library and it is using a version of CRT different from the application you are linking it with. Make you all CRTs are of same type and those errors will go away. -Saurabh

To identify the one process connected to the icon you should try to identify all the other one's. Take a list of processes running while it appears, subtract the ones you can identify, then subtract the system processes, then subtract the active programs that do not have a taskbar icon (100% positive), then from that list try to identify it. cgreathouse, That was it! Thank you very much. Turned out that the imagehlp.dll on the system that worked was v 4.00. The version on the failing system was 5.00.2128.1. I replaced it with the v 4.00 and now I get a call stack. Have a beer on me! 'til next we type... HAVE FUN!! -- Jesse
