That is true, there are problem areas across the world. Take paris recently, it has sufered 7 nights of rioting, sparked by the death of two kids fleeing the police (they escaped by getting into an electricity sub station and got electrocuted!) This is similar to LA after the rodney king afair. Although, only the 'project' area of paris is afected, not the whole city like LA. But there seems to be a difference between the US and the rest of the world. Where other countries pull together, the US gets scared and imposes curfews etc. We saw the same thing in NO, police going door to door with guns, checking if people are K, and the local police station coming under fire. A week later, as I posted, in Belgium there were floods. The police, army al turn out with trucks, diggers spades etc and clear up the mess. There is no 'fraying' of the social fabric, just people working together to get things back to normal. So why is US society so fractured that it can fall apart so easilly? Is it that it just hasnt had enough centuries to form a fully integreated society? But, I am also breaking balls. Actually there are several ways we can tell which religion is true, if we look to the Bible, which should be our guide. Jesus said, "By their fruits you will recognize them." If you want a decent living it is not enough to work. You have to work on something other people need. Only this way it is possible to get results of their work (that you need) in return. Unfortunately some people are poor on their choice of career. But that's just reality. Imagine a world with 10 people where 9 people would like to produce potatos and the remaining one would need to produce everything elese. Those 9 people would be poor (well, at least they would have something to eat) and it would not make the world any better or more just place if you distribute goods produced by the one to them for free. I think access to education and skills as well as free market with as little entry conditions and other limitations as possible is a good foundation for moral society. The rest is up to individuals. Here in Sydney I was once stopped by police with a sniffer dog on suspicion of be in possession of marijuana. Eventually I was released as I was innocent. However you can get needles delivered to your door free of charge, you can go to an injecting room and get free needles and medical supervision while you shoot up or you can go on a methadone program and get free drugs, needles, and medical supervision all paid for by us tax payers. And dont be concerned about going to jail as all these services are available there free of changre as well. I think drink is the biggest problem in most first world societies. How many of us can say we have never done something we regret while drunk?
