If you just want to throw in a PowerPoint, you could use slideshare.net[^] and paste the embed code in your article. Allows you to add audio narration too.

Codeproject Feature Request -
OLE in-place activation serverI'm trying to write OLE in-place activation server app in C#. Basically, what I want is that a user should be able to do Insert -> Object... in Microsoft Word and select my object there. Has anybody done this? What interfaces do I need to implement? A non-C#/.NET-specific how-to will also do. Thanks, Nikhil

Looking for a simple installation programI got something called IExpress with Win 2K Pro - it was hiding in the system32 directory. MS uses this for almost everything they distribute. This tool also has the capability to save your settings in a SED (for self-extracting directive) file, so rebuilding the package is easy. Just go to Run and type iexpress to run it. Free presentations?You would have got a better response if you had used the forums - there's a drop-down at the top-right of this page, take a look. Anyway, since you asked, GotDotNet has an event presentations page. A list is only as strong as its weakest link. - Don Knuth

Is there the codegurus of Netscape?What on god's green earth is Netscape? I take it, from the tone of the post, that it is in fact not some super weapon but nonetheless equally horrid? ;P (excerpted without permission from Paul Watson's eloquent words) Maybe you should have used the forums? When do you think IE will support locally ASP without PWS or IIS?PWS is crap and doesn't even support Windows ME out of the box (it's very difficult to install on ME). Nah, I had Windows ME, and I installed PWS (from some NT Option Pack or something), no hacks required. So, I guess what I need is the ability to interpret and run ASP pages WITHOUT a server. Can't you just cache the XML somewhere? I guess if you can get your users to run web servers, you sure can get them to store an XML file. You could also use the userData behavior to store XML on the client. And have you considered ActiveX controls? A web server would be pretty radical in your case, and either userData or ActiveX can fulfill your needs IMHO.

z vs. zedDon't tell me that you pronounce that motor-bike as cee-bee-zed. I thought everyone pronounced it as cee-bee-zee. Fine, I wont tell you. :-D I dont have much of an interest in bikes... I did not know such a thing existed till about 0x12C seconds ago...

z vs. zedIn India it is now considered fashionable to pronounce Z as zee instead of as zed. Not here in North India. At least not in Delhi. People who do such outrageous things are labelled as outright idiots ;P. Please try to avoid generalising, especially when it concerns a diverse country like India. I'm serious. Eye StrainI also had then coated with some very light green film stuff, that cuts down on the glare and reflections from the monitor. I have that green film too. Works really great, no difference in percieved color, and I can actually stare at a vehicle's headlights straight-on :omg: , with no discomfort whatsoever. The W2K crash proggyI've seen it at least a dozen times around here... everyone's using
#include "stdio.h"
in that proggy. Why? I think it should be
#include <stdio.h>
Yeah, I know, both ways work, but the really correct version should be the one with the wakas™, not the tickies™. Bestow thy knowledge upon me, C++ gurus. A list is only as strong as its weakest link. - Don Knuth

DSL, anybody?As I have already mentioned, I just want to download the occasional SDK and browse around on CodeProject and MSDN... No MP3s or movies or some such. Some Microsoft SDKs are pretty huge, and otherwise browsing the web is slower than I'd like. I have managed to download stuff like the Speech SDK (thrice) and the .NET Framework SDK (twice) on my dialup, and the Platform SDK is a major driving force behind considering DSL. I suppose 1GB will do fine for now. A list is only as strong as its weakest link. - Don Knuth
