Not me I'm afraid. I live in the UK and am not on facebook, and these guys have a slightly different spelling of their surname. One of the problems of having a Scottish name is that it has been (mis)spelled around the world for about two hundred years!

I haven't had a cheque book for 5 or 6 years and didn't miss it till I needed to pay a small company for a holiday this year. 2 mins on the phone though and I'd transferred the funds the same day, he could see the money via his internet banking site before I'd put down the phone. Compare that to waiting a week for royal mail to deliver a first class letter and then 5 days for a cheque to clear (but could still be reversed from your account) etc etc. Russ

Back in 2001, I too experienced bouts of vertigo for no explainable reason. I would feel a little "funny" and then within an hour, the room would start spinning. The first time it happened, i was walking through a short, straight hallway and ran face first into the wall. I would vomit (or attempt to) continuously for 1-3 hours at which point I would be thoroughly exhausted and fall asleep. I was referred to an otorhinolaryngologist (which incidentally is "oto = ear; rhino = nose; laryng = throat; ologist = doctor*) who cleaned my ears and said I should have an MRI (Which I never did). After that, it hasn't happened since. * Roughly translated - More accurately as "person who studies" I don't claim to be a know it all, for I know that I am not... I usually have an answer though.

I just found the thread again... I used Testdisk to recover the partition table, PhotoRec to recover the pictures. I found 99% of the deleted files (30000 pictures in total), with quite some duplicates, obviously from some auto-saving image manipulation software. The rest was lost, but I was able to recover all their favorite pictures - birth of their kid etc. Thanks again. I needed a barcode scanner for a similar situation. You can goto eBay and get a modified usb CueCat scanner pretty cheap. By nature, they only scanned their own proprietary barcodes. People have modified them via software or hardware to read other standard barcodes. I bought the hardware modified version. It was a little bit of a pain to use because it was a swipe type reader, but it did the job for cheap money.
