Hmm.. Wearing the vest is one event and falling into water is another. Both events coincides. It's just that you didn't anticipate to fall into water. So, I see two or more events coinciding still. In Swedish, some people find it incredibly hard to differ between irony and sarcasm/satire. Irony is a "thing of fate", like the vest example, while sarcasm is just expressing something using its negation.
