It's the start of the mountain of evidence that shows you're an idiot, and that at a MINIMUM, anything you say is grossly exaggerated. Christian Graus Driven to the arms of OSX by Vista. Read my blog to find out how I've worked around bugs in Microsoft tools and frameworks.

I tacked on Che, as there is the one iconic image of him that people might actually put on their wall. It really was nothing but stereotypes.

People in the 1800s did not have 3 cars, did not pay for cable and 4 cell phones, did not have long holidays, or computers. The main issues are complex. House prices have been driven up by scarcity of land. Population growth pushes the poor further away from jobs, and thus increases their travel costs. People not being willing to live with extended family increases living costs for everyone. Yeah, he might be, but using Islam? Eco friendlyness barely exists in Islam any more than in christianity (he who cares for the least of my creatures etc). What DOES exist in Islam in bucket loads is repression of women. And thats the first thing one thiks of in relation to this religion. If he really wanted to use religion as an example instead of being a tredny left wing dickhead he would have used the north american native religion which truly did care for the environment ona big way. In fact so good was their care for nature that the first English to arrive there thought the beauty and abundant wild game they saw was natural. It wasnt, it was managed that way by the natives. Ian Shlasko wrote: If all of the companies selling a product agree to double the price, who's to say that isn't now the "real value"? It's not illegal, is it? I think that's called price fixing and is "technically" illegal but like many white collar crimes, try prosecuting it. Ian Shlasko wrote: And for that matter, what about monopolistic practices? It's not illegal to have a monopoly, is it? No, but supposedly the rules of engagement for monopolies is different. All depends on how many and which members of Congress you've managed to employ. Ian Shlasko wrote: They own so much of our debt, that if we hyperinflated and devalued it, their economy would die almost as fast as ours. They've invested so much of their money in our economy, that they can't afford to see us drop. I dont expect for one moment that the conspiracy theorists or religious people amongst us will agree If you mean by going out and actively looking for them, cherry picking your evidence and ignoring or deliberately mistating contradicting evidence, when refuted claiming that those who don't believe aren't open to believe or they couldn't possibly help themselves except to embrace said idea....then yes. Once you agree to clans, tribes, governments...you've opted for socialism. Here's a fun first comment on the article: You AGAIN failed to mention that the Nigerian government is the principal owner of ALL of the major upstream companies operating in Nigeria. They own 55% of Shell Nigeria, 60% of Agip, 60% of Mobil and 60% of Chevron. Why do you keep missing this key detail? Isn't it part of your job to inform your readers of such a key fact? You are a newsman, not a politician. Give your readers the information they deserve. Quick! To the Obama mobile, we must solve all of the worlds problems regardless of how uninvited or unrelated to any actual legal power we actually have they may be!

Not sure if we agree about what it is showing. :) So here's my take on what we can deduce from the diagram. It shows that, if warming (or cooling for that matter) is occurring it is not doing so at an accelerating rate. It does not show that warming (or cooling) is not occurring. But does show that, if it is happening, it's relatively small compared to random year-on-year changes. To be more certain about what it does show you need to know (a) if there is a trend, and (b) how large are the random fluctuations compared with the trend. Without these two pieces of information all we can conclude is that, if there is a trend then it's not accelerating, we cannot conclude that it's not getting warmer (or cooler). :-D Regards David R --------------------------------------------------------------- "Every program eventually becomes rococo, and then rubble." - Alan Perlis The only valid measurement of code quality: WTFs/minute.

And in any case I wasnt mocking it any more than it deserves. Aparently SHakespere invented 2000 words, used adjectives as adverbs and generally played fast and loose with English in a way that today we would call barbaric. ragnaroknrol wrote: Just stop. If you can't use the language correctly, HA! I happen to know alot more about English precisely becuase I know Dutch and French, languages in which English has its roots. Most use the french 's', but some the saxon 'en'. As for pronunciation, its a joke. 'The cat with nine lives lives next door'. Why are 'lives' and 'lives' pronounced differently? Not to mention 'coal' and 'hole', why DO they sound the same? Anyway, as to whether 'ironical' exists, I just checked, it looks like it does: http://www.bing.com/search?q=ironical&src=IE-SearchBox&FORM=IE8SRC[^] Ha so there! ;P Morality is indistinguishable from social proscription

josda1000 wrote: Yes, strong leadership. Everyone wants our president to be strong, more hard on terrorists, harder on the drug war, harder on the borders... blah blah. But it's clear you're hardly living in a dictatorship, not now, and not the clown before. josda1000 wrote: If you and your competitors were to go neck and neck, you have no reason to cut wages. you're doing fine. What you want to do is keep your talent and not let them go sour, through cutting wages. It's just absolutely dumb to do. Thus circling to my point. Laborers are hardly 'talent'. The guy stacking the shelves is not 'talent'. He's in a dead end job. josda1000 wrote: I'd say that McDonalds is winning, but even if they're not, none of them have really cut wages. They may be hiring and firing constantly, but there's no reason to disenchant any current employees. Do they really pay more than the legal minimum ? josda1000 wrote: Our company is doing so well. We're thriving. And you know what? We have more work than we have employees. That's because we are in demand. Our stocks are up because we are worth a lot, even with the "too much to do". But that's a good problem. The problem would be if we didn't have ENOUGH demand. My point from the start has never been that I fear for my job or my wage. It's that the people with more dead end jobs are not in the same situation, and nothing you say applies to them. josda1000 wrote: Capitalism is the only way to freedom. I am free to work where I please, because my talent is in demand. My company recognizes that, and pays me to work for them, and will not cut my wage because we have "too much to do". Once again, that's great for people whose 'talent is in demand'. I never doubted that was true. I just care what happens to other people who are not so lucky.
