If I see he neighbors houses disturbingly dark, you bet ya... but if no one cares one way or the other then it's a wasted protest. Would be interesting to see though who is participating.

I've met a number of those folks in my life. I've enjoyed those times when I was around to see them (and those around them) realise just how far off the mark they can be. However, it has come to light that a number of folks did know exactly what they were doing - ripping off other people - and there were a number of economists (especially in the Austrian school) that predicted what happened last fall as long as five years ago. I knew it! It's those frakkin' Scandinavians!!! Such heartfelt appeals for donations to some asswipe 100 billion dollar "trade fund" which Brazil won't controbute much to but which it will gladly help spend certainly make me hope the U.S. does the right thing. It was much easier before they changed thier contact page, you have to work a bit to find representatives that don't represent your district. You also use to be able to post 'email' to congressional representatives outside your district, they "fixed that". Change was made IMHO to reduce 'email' on key votes to representatives who are borderline on specific issues.

Don't forget that Moddy's kept rating CDS's as A number 1 practically until Lehman bros went belly up. Thye might be overly cautious these days. On the other hand, saying that any bank in any country is sick and may not get better is pretty much a sure thing. "Put your faith not in the Princes of Men, my son, but in gold - bullion and coins."
