Thanks for everyone's comments/suggestions. On reflection, I've decided to make the code available under the Code Project Open License. Cheers, Derek.

Illegal Use of Code -
Illegal Use of CodeThanks for everyone's responses. It's pretty much what I expected, but I was intrigued to see what people would say :) If there was a CP license choice that prevented use in commercial software, then I'd have selected it a long time ago. To be honest, I may just make it available to anyone anyway. It's such a long time since I wrote the article, so much has changed since. To be honest, I'm surprised anyone still finds it useful ;P

Illegal Use of CodeIt's come to my attention that some code that I wrote and published here free for personal or non-profit use (my [Collapsible Panel Bar]) is being used in a commercial software product in Russia. Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to handle this? My first thoughts would be to email them and remind them of the licensing restrictions and see what happens. Cheers, Derek.

Aggregating Blogs through FeedBurnerOK, thanks for confirming that. From what I can see, if I specify "?alt=rss" at the end of the source feed in FeedBurner and turn off SmartFeed it will produce an RSS format feed. I'll wait and see if CP picks up any articles now. NOTE: The "?alt=rss" will only work if your feed is provided by blogger.

Aggregating Blogs through FeedBurnerMy blog's feed[^] is currently served up by FeedBurner and provides categories in the following format:
<entry ...>
<id>...</id>
<category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="CodeProject" />
...I believe this is an Atom format, so I'm guessing the absence of any blog articles for my feed indicates that this isn't a supported format yet. Is this right? Cheers, Derek.

Article submission questionsI'd go with a new article and reference the original from the new article to show the 'origin' and reference the new article from the old one to point to the 'radical update'. Derek Lakin. blog: Digital Thoughts bliki: Derek's Bliki

Any free tool to compare 2 dirs?You could also try KDiff3[^], which allows you to do 3 way differencing and merging (and it's free). Derek Lakin. Salamander Software Ltd. The Add-in Zone blog: Digital Thoughts bliki: Derek's Bliki

A byte here, a byte thereColinDavies wrote: I'm a two spaces after the period person also This is a readability thing from typewriter days. Personally, I stick with one space as I think the two spaces looks odd and it's also a heck of a lot fewer impacts on the space bar ;) ColinDavies wrote: Also I believe a space before a question mark is appropriate, nobody else seems to though That's because it's grammatically incorrect :-D. The question mark, like any other punctuation (like a full stop (period for the Americans among us), comma, exclamation mark, etc.) should immediately follow the word preceding it. Derek Lakin. Carry Case for 17" LaptopLooks like it's exactly what I need, but I can't find a UK reseller and Targus don't list it on their Europe online store :(( Derek Lakin. Salamander Software Ltd. The Add-in Zone blog: Digital Thoughts bliki: Derek's Bliki

Carry Case for 17" LaptopPaul Watson wrote: Paul: Oh, and I need a case for this laptop Salesman: This Targus will do fine, it is for 15" laptops Paul: Great. So I get home, unpack the laptop, unzip the case, remove the divider and put the laptop inside. Fits perfectly. Snug as a bug in a rug. Then it hits me; Where the sod is the power adaptor brick supposed to fit? Argh! Paul: Sales dude, take back this case and give me one that actually fits *everything* Salesman: *mutter* *mutter* *mutter* Hehehehehe :-D Paul Watson wrote: I can lend you my 50l Karrimor pack if you want I think that might help! Carry Case for 17" LaptopMy new employer was kind enough to purchase a Sony Vaio 17" widescreen laptop [^]for me when I started work for them. However, they didn't think to get a carry case at the same time and now I need one. Having scoured our preferred supplier's website I put in the purcahse requisition for a Dicota BacPac Jump[^] because another website I found somewhere else said that the 17" Apple Powerbook fits in it. In all fairness I don't have a Powerbook, I've got a 17" Vaio, but I figured they were about the same size. The bag arrived today and unfortunately, it's about an inch too short :( Can anyone reccomend a rucksack style carrycase for 17" laptops? Derek Lakin. Salamander Software Ltd. Interesting Marketing ExperienceI'm not seeing much on the readyhosting package that isn't offered by our Elite package except stuff that you most likely won't use (like unlimited email aliases). Granted they are offering more hard disk space, but how much do actually need? Our offering is aimed at developers and we try to offer whatever developers need. If you feel that we aren't offering what you want then talk to us and tell us what you want and what you're prepared to pay for it. I'm sure we can come to some kind of agreement. Derek Lakin.

How long for a follow up?Paul Watson wrote: I appreciate that the guy made an effort but if I say "I *will* contact you in one week whatever our decision" I mean I will do it. Unfortunately Paul not everyone is as good at doing what they say they will as you are. I've found here in the UK, especially when dealing with recruitment agents [:mad:], that the only thing to do is keep on at them. Derek Lakin.

The Battle of Spam continues..It'll be interesting to see how the challenge/response patent issue gets resolved. As you say there are several companies making use of the technology for spam filtering purposes and it does seem to be a good solution to the problem. Derek Lakin.
