Hehe yes, I was complaining that they would not listen. It would be a bit hypocritical of me not to listen in return.

I Find It Interesting...I've had to fire more than one guy like you. They won't listen to reason because they _know better_, they've done this before and so by damn we're going to do it just they way they did before without any consideration of anything else.

Ubuntu irritationYou're failing to recognize that the manufacturer wrote the windows drivers for the card, whereas volunteers must write the drivers for linux. If you want to blame anyone for your troubles, it is certainly the manufacturers fault.

we have just been hacked...Perhaps your site inadvertantly said something to offend them, but more likely your was chosen simply because (I'm assuming) it had a known vulnerability.

[Message Deleted]Hire a lawyer, quick. I suspect you'll be accused of "hacking" by non-literate boobs.

Confused by wireless signal strengthAre you really having connection problems, or is the driver misreporting signal strength? (e.g. does ping -t .... abort/change when the signal appears to be low?)

Decompiling .NET AssemblyErr. Native programs can be decompiled, too - straight into assembler. Cracking isn't just a matter of skipping instructions - you have to have the "source" and understand it. Anyone can then recompile this source into a program. I see no difference.

Source control system deleting source filesI don't know what situations, but I have seen this kind of stuff with VSS. Deleted files, cases where a checkin silently "failed" (e.g. new revision is lost), and another case where a checkin got "mixed" with another file - e.g. the text was mangled. Hence, I don't use VSS anyway.. :) Perforce FTW.

ComcastHad the same problems, dropped Comcast and swithced to Speakeasy.

Comments made during the Coretta Scott King's funeralThat makes sense, except that I don't know where other people disagree with me (e.g. are wrong ), so it's impossible to know what will upset them.

Comments made during the Coretta Scott King's funeralWhat about people whos signatures talk about god?
-
Comments made during the Coretta Scott King's funeralWhy? Because people get upset talking about it? I'm genuinely curious: what's the dividing line between the lounge and the soapbox? Popular opinion?
-
Comments made during the Coretta Scott King's funeralDon't get me wrong, I think our current administration is about 1000 different kinds of stupid, but:
The Lounge is a place where you can discuss anything that takes your fancy. If you just want to laze about and discuss things that don't quite fit elsewhere, then this is the place.

Media Library TipsYeah, if you go to "Edit->Preferences" to the "Advanced" tab, to the "General" subtab (sheesh!), you can change the "iTunes Music folder location"

Politely closing an appOops.. Where I said "WM_QUIT," interpret that to mean "WM_CLOSE". :) In a later post I mentioned that WM_CLOSE merely minimizes the app to the system tray. I'm not really bent on shutting down the app nicely, but when it's shut down forcefully it leaves the icon in the system tray. Thanks :)
