Why do you have to fag up a discussion that had nothing at all to do with atheism or religion with this shit? Just because you grapple with your own internal turmoil on the subject every single day doesn't mean that these fine people want you in here fagging the place up with your stupid shit. SRSLY, GTFO.

Poor you. Having to await my attendance of this fine forum. Although a Sunday evening, I do have other things to occupy my time without wondering if little Troy is having a hissyfit. Well Troy, you stop having your hissyfit now. Go get your handkerchief and wipe away your tears of torment. For the answer to your question (above), I refer you to the resources I linked to in the thread some way below this. I also refer you to the words I used through that very same thread where at no time have I said that Dickens stories were in fact wholly true and accurate. What I said was that they are works of fiction yet these works of fiction were a representation of how Dickens saw and witnessed human life as it probably happened in front of his own two eyes. That does not make Dickens a liar. But it did make politicians of the era take notice of the inhumane Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834 and thus change things for the better and that included statutes that enabled the Metropolitan Board of Works in 1855. To quote Dickens in his defence of Oliver Twist, "I saw no reason, when I wrote this book, why the very dregs of life, so long as their speech did not offend the ear, should not serve the purpose of a moral, at least as well as its froth and cream"

It does. All I see are selfish brutes that do not practice Islam the way it was proscribed and instead are completely desecrating it, making it an item of ridicule for the rest of the world. This is compounded by idiots like Adnan that are running around loose all over the world. It goes from bad to worse because these people see a conspiracy against them wherever they look. I can't wait for the change to come. I feel that a revolution is coming, and I fear that it will be bloody. The Church's "Hate the Jews" was always obeyed with a greater fervour than Joshua's "Love thy neighbour as thyself". With hundreds of years of such Authority, it is not surprising that it is deeply ingrained in the culture of the ignorant. Given any excuse, synagogues, cemeteries, butchers, and individuals will be attacked. Bob Emmett

Ka?l wrote: Dealing with the symptoms rather than taking care of the root of the problems? What a short-sighted thing to do. No, its actually long term, not short. If we implement Kyoto, at huge cost, we will only offset the supposed warming by a few years. That is a short term view. Ka?l wrote: IMO, the probability you are right is 5%, when the one you are wrong is 95%. So tell me Karl, if CO2 is driving temperature why does CO2 lag temperature by centuries in the Vostok ice core data? Also, why did the temperature drop post war for 25 years when CO2 was rising? Also, why are todays temperatures much lower than predicted by the GCMs 15 years ago? If you can answer these with other than 'I dont know', which merely reinforces my statement that we should do more research before acting, then you will have cast doubt on the ability of CO2 to drive climate, and thus your position.
