Everyone is doing this now. I am with a small bank called Webster in Connecticut and they implemented the same thing: 1. Enter your username, press enter 2. If no cookie, enter answer to a random question (1 of 5 I filled out previsouly) 3. Shown image from 1 of 1000 I selected from 4. If everything is OK, enter my password I also belong to a small credit union through work and they just sent an e-mail stating that they will be implementing something similiar. I think this is the wave of the future and you will be seeing all banks get on the bandwagon with this type of logon process. Regards,

First off, I think you meant adopter, not adapter. Second, you should probably pick a tool like Google Desktop, Copernic Desktop Search, or any one of the other desktop search programs. Not only will it search your Outlook (including all folders and subfolders), but it will also search your hard drivers, indexing information so that you can instantaneously search for what you are looking for. As far as I'm concerned, Outlook search sucks. Regards,

Was this an upgrade to Windows 98 or ME? I have seen this happen if you upgrade these old 16 bit OS'es. Also, if this was an upgrade, and not a fresh install, spyware, malware and any other type of "ware" can really screws systems up. This may be occurring as a result of some rogue program. Regards,

I have to physically go to the post office to send priority mail (US Post office version of FedEx 2 day service). Which means I have to leave work early to stop by the post office and drive out of my way to get there.

I didn't know about this until I went to the post office today to drop off two packages. Now I have to go out of my way again tomorrow to get the packages in the mail. I mean jessh...he was president 30 years ago. Come on - why do we have to close down the post office for this. I thought their slogan was through rain, sleet, snow, etc, the mail will get through. Apparently not.

My AT&T DSL works great. I'm about 1000 feet from the central office switch. I regularly get 320 Kbps downloads on large files. It never goes out. Four years now without a problem. Regards,

Proform is pretty much the standard when it comes to home treadmills. If you are going to be using it every day for 4 or more miles, you should stay away from the sub $400 (US) treadmills as these tend to need motor and/or belt replacements frequently. If you are just going to walk a little bit every day, then you could probably do OK with one of these inexpensive models. For high-end machines I would recommend either Nautilus or Precor. True is also an OK brand as well. Regards,

I would probably add NullSoft Installer[^]to the list as well. Free installation scripting program. Regards,

I'm looking for some recommendations for a specialized OCR application to process data in approximately 30,000 images. Each picture has three watch faces with numbers and a Pocket PC running software that shows a three digit number. Each image is essentially the same with minor movement due to vibration, so the numbers may be skewed somewhat from image to image. I would like to define four fields in the OCR software and batch process the images with the end result a text or CSV file. Anyone have any recommendations? Regards,

Ha ha... Actually I'm going to record an image of three heart rate monitors. The monitors record heart rate every 2 seconds. We are going to test a whole bunch of people for 15 minutes each. The single picture of all three monitors will be dumped into a directory. Then I'll have some administrative assistant transcribe the data from each watch and put the data into Excel. From there I can analyze the heart rate data in Matlab along with that of a portable EKG machine that will Bluetooth its data to my PC. Regards,

I have an interesting project that I'm working on. I need a camera (webcam) to take pictures of some watches every 2 seconds. I have a digital video camera, but the data storage required for 50 tests at 15 minutes per test is too much. I just need some still images. Does anyone have any recommendation on a webcam and software that will do this? The requirements are: * Decent resolution (VGA or better) * Software that will capture every 2 seconds * PC preferrably but Mac version OK Regards,

Even better than VirtualPC is VMWare Workstation. You can even create Unix virtual PC's. Not to mention, the latest version allows you to take snapshots and revert back to a specific snapshot if you need to. I've been using this for a while and I don't know how I lived without it. Now if they would only add OS X support... Regards,

Actually, I'm talking about all the exit rows - especially in coach. You get more leg room in an exit row, so many carriers are starting to charge more just because you are taking up more space. Regards, Brigg Thorp Senior Software Engineer Timex Corporation
