Essentially, piracy is a reallocation of income, not a loss to the larger national economy. Jacobs also noted that the content industry was mostly based in the US so revenue was largely flowing offshore. He pointed to a research report from Holland that found piracy was actually beneficial to the Dutch economy (a Canadian study has come to a similar conclusion). Other studios have found that illegal downloaders actually spent the most on music and that pirated copies served to market the legitimate versions. Yup. What I've believed for a long time. Pirates pirate because they don't have (or won't spend) the money to buy the product. But do have (or are willing to spend) the money on other things. In addition, the so-called pirating is just to get a demo so they know if they want to buy it or not. "This whole operation from the start has just been a monumental stuff-up by MIPI," said barrister Doug Potter, who represented the defence in this matter but has 18 years' experience with Victoria Police and has previously helped MIPI with its prosecutions. "This bloke's got a legitimate licence to be selling material and they've tried to characterise him as the greatest pirate in Australia. If their assessment is right they don't have a piracy problem, it's as simple as that." Yup. End-of-story. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams You must accept one of two basic premises: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not alone in the universe. And either way, the implications are staggering” - Wernher von Braun

It is not a chain reaction and there will not be an nuclear explosion. The explosions were from steam/pressure. It is the heat the uranium generates that is the problem. As stated before the poisoning should have stopped the process but lack of water cause a build up of heat. Once the uranium is exposed to the environment the radiation can escape. I guess you can call the contamination a chain reaction but in nuclear terms a chain reaction is something else.

I think the judge should allow the case, on the provision that the record company has to conclusively prove every individual infringement that would add up to that $75 trillion. And I don't mean just every song... Every act of infringement. Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in? Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)

Damn, that is so trite I almost puked after 30 seconds. "If climate has not "tipped" in over 4 billion years it's not going to tip now due to mankind." Richard S. Lindzen, Atmospheric Physicist, IPCC "It does not matter who you are, or how smart you are, or what title you have, or how many of you here are, and certainly not how many papers your side has published, if your prediction is wrong then your hypothesis is wrong. Period." Professor Richard Feynman

Just out of interest perhaps the SB is the place to discuss GW. Looking at the voting, it is fairly clear that half the CP members who view the posts are in support, and half against posting GW stuff in ths SB: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3817962/Just-found-a-doc-on-the-IPCC-site-from-1990.aspx[^] as you can see fairly even voting. THis is pretty constant, this voting patern, so perhaps the CP members wishes en masse should be taken into consideration. I am not trying to piss people off, or be a troll. It is a subject that is important today, it is costing us money. All I want to do is point out what I see is an injustice. And it is clear that many other people are equally happy to see it pointed out too. So, I say let the votes decide. After all, thats why the remove message vote was added, no? The french just want to take is security forces as POW's, and then out to dinner and some wine... Do those kids eat meat? Might as well teach them the truth now. I wonder how many will become vegetarian. Our society removes eat meat from the process of obtaining meat so much that if slaughterhouses were built like a greenhouse, McDonald's would go out of business. For those of ye who celebrated so long, you're after thinking it's still yesterday. Paddy walks into a vets and slams a goldfish on the counter. "Is there a problem, sir" Asks the vet? "By Jees there is" replies Paddy "What appears to be the problem?" Asks the vet "My goldfish is epeleptic" explains Paddy "I'm afraid there appears to be nothing wrong with your fish" the vet says "Hold on" says Paddy "I havent even taken it out of the water yet" Where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master. ~ Ayn Rand
